Vien has over five years’ experience as a nonprofit fundraiser, specializing in planned giving, major gifts, and donor engagement. She previously worked at the Rancho Santa Fe Foundation, a community foundation in San Diego County, and KPBS, the public media station serving the San Diego region. In 2017, she was recognized by PBS for her work in advancing planned gifts.
Before moving into charitable giving, Vien was an associate attorney at Smedley, Gallagher and Gee (now Gallagher, Bolander, Smedley), where her practice focused on estate planning and administration.
Vien serves on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Planned Giving Partnership and formerly served on the Board of Directors of Serving Seniors. She is also a member of the North County Estate Planning Council and the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners.
Vien received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and her B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
